ALL IN – Day 52 of 60!

Often we forget how fully human God was as Jesus. Does your life seem hard and your burdens to heavy to bear? Do you think deep down that God is to far removed to really comprehend what going “all in” requires.

Never forget that Jesus as a mortal man knew difficulty, temptation, disappointment, sorrow & ingratitude. He knew the hearts of men. As a result he understands both your heart and mine more fully than we can imagine.

He knows the real you!!!

ALL IN – Day 51 of 60!

What you do and how you react to situations is because of who you are on the inside. What you do is directly linked to what you are. All in or not? Only you know for sure. If you can come to grips with this point and truly comprehend it – you will be able to stand on God’s word and walk in victory.

When you learn to recognize the subtle ways the enemy seeks to nature a worldly or fleshly view of life – you will resist by the power of the Holy Spirit. No more confusion – instead peace in the midst of a storm. No more anger – instead the love of God poured in your heart spilling out. No more excuses – instead leaning on our faith in the risen redeemer – Jesus Christ.

No more looking here, there, and all around for help – instead calling on just one source – Jesus Christ.

Continue in it!!! All In Indeed!!

ALL IN – Day 50 of 60 !

Pain is a terrible thing. About an hour ago I had a tooth pulled and right now I am dealing with the pain. I know the extraction was necessary because of the ongoing pain it was causing yet I am struggling to accept that right this minute. The great thing is I know that I will be better as a direct result of the suffering I am now enduring. As a result I am joyful and praise God for what I am going through.

James writes “Consider it pure joy, my brothers, whenever you face trials of many kinds,” (James 1:2 NIV84). It is often painful to let go of something that has been a part of our lives for a long time (50 years with my tooth); however, we often know that if we don’t go through with the extraction of that besetting sin we will never be free of the constant issues it brings into our daily walk.

Now that you are ‘all in” celebrate the trials (extractions) because you will get through them because Christ is in you. I thank God for the dentist and his assistant who were the instruments used by God to pull the tooth. Likewise, we should celebrate those who are the vessels God uses to build our faith through trials to help us extract out of our lives those things hindering our abundant life.

No pain no gain. To God be the glory.

ALL IN – Day 49 of 60!

Quit letting the past destroy your future. Stay focused on where you are headed and not on where you used to be. Why?

Paul writes to us “Brothers, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.”(Philippians 3:13, 14 NIV84)

Jesus directly addressed this related to Lot’s wife in Luke 17:32 when he said
“Remember Lot’s wife!” This was a reference to Genesis 19:26 which states “But Lot’s wife looked back, and she became a pillar of salt.”

Why did she look back? Maybe she loved the world and the material things she had in Sodom. Lot was a wealthy man who had enough livestock and servants to cause a problem while he lived with Abraham (Genesis 13:5-7). He and his wife may have had a fine home with many expensive furnishings, servants, designer clothes, tasty food, and frequent entertainment.

She may have been reconsidering her decision to give up the privileges of her social status and prominent friends.

John writes:

Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world—the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life—is not of the Father but is of the world. And the world is passing away, and the lust of it; but he who does the will of God abides forever. (I John 2:15-17)

Professed and possessed “all in” Christians know not to look back.

Keep moving forward!

ALL IN – Day 48 of 60!

Stop crying about what happened to you and look forward to where you are going. Start wearing your blessing and living in the present.

Quit letting the enemy telling you what you can’t do by using your past to frustrate your future. He is telling you what you couldn’t do in the past when you didn’t have the faith and knowledge you now possess.

Exercise your faith. Remember “Therefore, since the promise of entering his rest still stands, let us be careful that none of you be found to have fallen short of it. For we also have had the gospel preached to us, just as they did; but the message they heard was of no value to them, because those who heard did not combine it with faith. (Hebrews 4:1, 2 NIV84)”

Stand strong because you are possessed by the Holy Spirit of God and no weapon formed against you shall prosper!!

ALL IN – Day 47 of 60!

Life, breathe and time have been given to each of us by God. He gave these to us so that we can carry out His purposes on earth. We were not called to sit on the sidelines (pews) and do nothing.

God knows each one us intimately. He knows your public and private attitudes. He knows every hair on your head. Because God knows you so well he has given you resources/gifts based on who you are to serve him. He has tested you based on past blessings to determine if it is time to give you more. He saw how you managed/handled what he gave you in the past.

The awesome thing is He is still watching. He is waiting for you to get up off the sideline and use what he has given you for His glory. Why? Because He has more for you once He sees how faithful you are with what you have now.

If you are reading this you still have life, breathe and time. Remember those 3 things are what enable us to function in this world. Use them wisely from this point to seek first the kingdom of God. As you go ‘all in’ get ready for more for God is a rewarder of those who diligently seek him.

Ready, set – GO!

ALL IN – Day 46 of 60!

What’s in your heart? The words that come out of your mouth – they are what are in your heart. If you curse me, belittle me, or insult me – I know that love for me is not in your heart. Matthew 15:18-20 makes this clear – “But the things that come out of the mouth come from the heart, and these make a man ‘unclean.’ For out of the heart come evil thoughts, murder, adultery, sexual immorality, theft, false testimony, slander. These are what make a man ‘unclean’; but eating with unwashed hands does not make him ‘unclean.’ ” (Matthew 15:18-20 NIV84)

If you are “all in” your heart has changed. What comes out of your mouth should be changing as you live by faith in the risen savior, Jesus Christ, and allow His love which has been poured out into the heart of every believer. “And hope does not disappoint us, because God has poured out his love into our hearts by the Holy Spirit, whom he has given us.”(Romans 5:5 NIV84)

What is coming out of your mouth?

ALL IN – Day 45 of 60!

Convince them they are powerless and the battle is already won. Convince them they can’t walk in unity and failure is guaranteed. Convince them to envy what others possess and they will be a mess. These are all thoughts the enemy plots to put inside your mind.

His worse fear is your recognition of who you are in Christ. The recognition that the Almighty God now lives inside of you and thus no weapon (thoughts can be weapons) former against you can prosper.

In the name of Jesus, I declare
You can and shall forgive.
You can and shall walk in unity.
You will get out of debt.
You will have the peace of God.
Your life will be blessed.
All are yours as you go “all in” and seek God first in all things.

ALL IN – Day 44 of 60!

J. B. Phillips reads Philippians 2:2-3 as “Live together in harmony, live together in love, as though you had only one mind and one spirit between you. Never act from motives of rivalry or personal vanity, but in humility think more of each other than you do of yourselves. None of you should think only of his own affairs, but consider other people’s interests also”

Many people think it is okay to treat other Christians wrong. They say things in a nasty tone, roll their eyes at them, belittle their ideas and plans and genuinely treat them in a non-loving manner.

Field mice are deceived for months because they don’t see the owner of the field for months and thus feel free to do as they please. They are unaware that harvest time is coming and when it does – their time is ended.

Likewise some Christians deceive themselves. Because they can’t see God and because he does not interfere with their power to make choices, they believe they have control of the field and forget God’s promise that there will be a harvest. Additionally, we will reap what we sow. So they mistreat brothers and sisters as if the master will never return.

I can understand the mouse’s lack of thinking and his resulting demise. But a Christian who says he or she is “all in” – mice or men? Only you can answer.

ALL IN – Day 43 of 60

I wonder what God thinks when someone who claims to be “all in” displays hatred or a lack of civility towards a brother or sister in Christ. What about when the “all in” Christian begins to display constant hostility in every interaction with a specific brother or sister in Christ.

Is it possible God recognizes that he or she can ‘t possibly be “all in?” God is love and He knows his own because they display his love to all but especially to their brothers and sisters in Christ.

We love because he first loved us. If anyone says, “I love God,” yet hates his brother, he is a liar. For anyone who does not love his brother, whom he has seen, cannot love God, whom he has not seen. And he has given us this command: Whoever loves God must also love his brother. (1 John 4:19-21 NIV84)

Are you “all in” based on your interactions with and thoughts regarding other Christians during the past 43 days? It is not to late to let go of the hate.
