Hebrews 11:5 says “By faith Enoch was taken from this life, so that he did not experience death; he could not be found, because God had taken him away. For before he was taken, he was commended as one who pleased God.”
Walking is often used to describe how we live our daily lives. Obviously how we walk is important to God. Paul encourages us to make our walk a worthy one (Colossians 1:10) and to walk by faith and not sight (II Corinthians 5:7).
For 300 years (Genesis 5:22, 24) Enoch’s walk included God in every aspect of his life. Wherever Enoch was, God was. They were inseparable partners.
Enoch was in constant communication with God. How do we include God in every aspect of our lives as Enoch did? By prayer – which is our means of constant communication with God. Prayer is a major element in walking with God.
Can God say of us what He says about Enoch, that He is a partner in every aspect of our lives? Enoch wanted God to be present and involved in his life. He willingly submitted and subjected himself to God daily.
Enoch’s walk with God is an example of a life lived ALL IN! Guess what? It can be the same for us. The first Great Commandment is to “love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind” (Matthew 22:36-38). When you truly love someone you should communicate with them often. Are you praying daily? Are you ALL IN?
